CNY Great Pumpkin Festival Set

OSWEGO, NY – The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce invites you to celebrate the harvest season at the 19th annual Central New York Great Pumpkin Fest.

Giant pumpkins line the park at last year’s Pumpkin Fest. This year’s fest will be held Oct. 2 and 3 in Oswego’s Washington Square Park.

Scheduled for Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Great Pumpkin Fest will fill Washington Square Park with crafters, farm produce, food vendors, music and games for children of all ages.

The Great Pumpkin Weigh-In will take place on Oct. 2 beginning at 10 a.m.

The giant pumpkins will be on display at the Great Pumpkin Fest Saturday only.

The two-day event will also feature a wide variety of entertainment and activities including:

Air Hops and Face Painting for the kids
Wine Tasting
Arts and Crafts Vendors
Carnival Rides and Games
50 / 50 Raffle

In addition there will be live performances each day.

Entertainers scheduled to perform include:

Irish Step Dancers, 11 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday
Domicolo / Barlow Band, noon – 2:30 p.m. Saturday
The Royal Paynes, 3 – 6 p.m. Saturday
The Do Good Swing Band, 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Sunday
Larry Stamatel, 2 – 5 p.m. Sunday

Mexico Man Convicted Of Sex Crimes

An Oswego County jury today (Oct. 23) convicted Richard M. Switts, 40, of Mexico, of six counts second-degree criminal sexual act (Class D violent felony); two counts of second-degree sexual abuse (Class A Misdemeanor); and three counts of third-degree sexual abuse (Class B misdemeanor).
