Art In The Square 2008

Saturday September 27 marks the third annual ART IN THE SQUARE. The fine art and music festival is held from 10am -5pm at 624 and 628 So. Main St., in Central Square. The event runs concurrent with the first day of Apple Fest which is held at Goettel Park at the north end of the village.

Artisans will demonstrate and sell their work on the grounds of Abbott’s Lake Country Studio and the adjoining Studio 628 classrooms. The classrooms will be open and students art work will be on display as well as photographs by the Oneida Lake Camera Club.

Live music starting at noon by Gypsy Red a progressive folk band from Parish NY. Gypsy Red has over 80 original songs to their credit. Gypsy Red has two CD’s out, “Infinite Journey” and “Coming Home”. Their third CD, “The Heart and Soul of Gypsy Red” is expected to be released sometime this fall. Jonathan Coleman, acoustic guitar, singer song writer will follow at 2:30 .

Thousand Islands Winery will offer a wine tasting under the big tent from 1:00 - 4:00pm.

As this column goes to press the 152nd Oswego County Fair should be in full swing at Sandy Creek. During the previous week the Heritage building was stocked full with many new and unique exhibits. We even brought down a piano for some live music!
