Esther Paine, 93

FULTON, NY – Esther C. Paine, 93, of Granby, died Tuesday November 6, 2012, at her son Benjamin’s home after a short illness.

Mrs. Paine was born in Lysander, the daughter of the late Frank and Jane Paine.

Mrs. Paine along with her family owned and operated Paine Farms.

Mrs. Paine was predeceased by her husband, O. Brewster Paine.

She is survived by two sons, Oliver (Cindy) Paine and Benjamin Paine, both of Granby; one brother, Robert Cook of Lysander; five grandchildren, Oliver, Michael, Seth, Ethan and Jeremy; and one great-granddaughter, Meredith.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. November 18 at the Sugar Funeral Home 224 W. Second St., Fulton.

It’s On For The Modified Championship This Saturday At Fulton Speedway

The lines have been drawn in the sand and there are no such thing as teammates or friends when the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modified track championship get settled this Saturday on the ‘High Banks’. Coming into the 35-Lap finale Saturday teammates Billy Decker and Larry Wight are separated by one single point with former track champion Jimmy Phelps just 25 points back.

Pride tryout – commitment day scheduled

The Pride travel softball program will have a tryout/commitment day from 3 – 5 p.m. on September 14 at the Oswego High School varsity softball field for any girl interested in playing Pride travel softball next summer. In case of rain, the session will be held at the following week, September 21 at the same time and location.
