Fulton Man arrested for criminal contempt

NORTH SYRACUSE, NY – State Police in North Syracuse arrested 46-year-old Kevin J. Blair, from Fulton.

He was charged with Criminal Contempt 2nd, a class “A” misdemeanor.

Blair was arrested Friday after he violated an order of protection issued to his ex-girlfriend, troopers said.

He was arraigned in the Town of Clay Court and remanded to the Onondaga County Justicve Center in lieu of $17,500 cash and $35,000 bond.

Oswego AmeriCorps Members Work with DSS to Help Homeless Population

Due to the growing homeless population in Oswego County, the Oswego County Department of Social Services has partnered with the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, Oswego County Opportunities, and Catholic Charities to utilize AmeriCorps members under the Economic Opportunity Program to help provide homeless services for many at-risk individuals. The program began earlier this fall.

DSS Hosts Nov. 4 Orientation Meeting for Future Foster and Adoptive Parents

The Oswego County Department of Social Services will sponsor an informational meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 4 at the Department of Social Services, 100 Spring St., for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents. Oswego County also needs Hispanic foster parents.

October Is 4-H Month

The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee presented a proclamation designating October as 4-H Month in Oswego County. With the support of the Oswego County Legislature, Cornell Cooperative Extension serves rural and urban youth through 4-H Youth Development programs.
