Hastings Byrne Dairy Robbery Suspects In Custody

OSWEGO, NY – In the early morning hours Sunday (02/16/14), deputies of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the New York State Police, responded to a robbery at the Byrne Dairy on US Route 11 in the town of Hastings.

A preliminary investigation revealed a strong-armed robbery had just been committed by two suspects that fled the scene on foot.

Officers then followed those footprints left unwittingly in the snow by the suspects to 166 Roxbury Estates.

Both suspects were arrested and property stolen from the store was recovered.

The suspects arrested are, Frank J. Burt, 17, and Jeremy L. Champney, also 17.

Both men reside in the town of Hastings.

Each was charged with one count of first-degree robbery, a class b felony; one count of second-degree robbery, a class c felony; one count of fourth-degree conspiracy, a class e felony; and Champney was charged with an additional count of resisting arrest.

Both men are pending arraignment in town court.

The investigation is continuing.
