Man Found Dead In Car After Fulton Accident

Fulton Police say a man died after a car crash caused after he lost consciousness while driving.

Erwin L. Allen, 90 of Co. Rt. 57, Fulton, died at Lee Memorial Hospital shortly after the 9:00 a.m. accident.

Police provide this account of the incident:  Allen was driving his 1994 Oldsmobile on Van Buren St., heading towards the intersection with State Rt. 481.  The car rolled into the intersection and was hit by a pickup truck driven by Gordon Roberts.  Marjorie Roberts, a passenger in the truck, complained of pain and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Syracuse.  Emergency medical crews found Allen unresponsive in his car and took him to the hospital.

No tickets have been issued.

Allen’s body will undergo an autopsy to try to determine what happened to him.
