OSWEGO, NY - A night of laughter and fun will be had by all as Farnham Family Services and Radio Disney join together for the first Farnham Family Fun Night.

Central New York families are invited to attend Farnham Family Fun Night on Aug. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Oswego Speedway.

The event is part of Farnham’s 2008 campaign appeal to help provide funding to the agency’s student assistance programs.

According to Jeanne Unger, executive director at Farnham Family Services, the event is a collaborative effort between Farnham, Radio Disney, the Oswego Speedway, Dougherty’s Inflatable Rides, and Red Planet.

“We’re very excited to partner with Radio Disney for our first ever Family Fun Night,” said Unger. “Radio Disney is a family friendly network who shares our same commitment to our communities and families.”

The event will be held in the infield pit area of the Oswego Speedway and include 8-10 inflatable bouncy rides, a variety of games and prizes, skateboarding and bike exhibitions, and great food.

Oswego Speedway Super modified cars and drivers will also be on hand to make the night even more memorable.

Entertainment and music will be provided by Radio Disney with on-air Radio Disney disc jockeys providing great music for everyone to enjoy.

The event is free of charge and intended for children aged 14 and under.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Designated rides and games will be available for younger children.

Established in 1971, Farnham Family Services is a United Way agency that offers prevention services, school-based Student Assistance and treatment services to all residents of Oswego and surrounding counties.

All services are licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.

Farnham’s professionally certified staff is comprised of competent and skillful individuals who are continually updated with training through conferences and workshops.

Its offices are located in the cities of Oswego and Fulton and provide comprehensive treatment services - including acupuncture detoxification.

Oswego Harborfest has announced that the popular 50-50 Raffle to benefit Harborfest will return in 2009.

Farnham Family Services, an Oswego-based substance abuse treatment and prevention center, is now selling tickets for its 2009 Changing Lives Raffle.

As this column goes to press the 152nd Oswego County Fair should be in full swing at Sandy Creek. During the previous week the Heritage building was stocked full with many new and unique exhibits. We even brought down a piano for some live music!
