Submitted Article

0SWEGO, NY - Harborfest officials are seeking applicants for performance slots for the 2009 edition of the festival, slated for July 23 – 26.

The festival seeks performing groups of all types.

Harborfest has traditionally been an eclectic undertaking providing an opportunity to showcase a wide diversity of musical performers and types.

The recently concluded 2008 edition of the festival spotlighted national, local and regional performing bands and artists.

The festival spotlighted classic rock, contemporary rock, Christian rock, country, jazz, folk, singer-songwriters and swing bands on four stages located at scenic venues throughout the city of Oswego.

Performers or performing groups interested in applying for an appearance at Harborfest 2009 can obtain an application by visiting the Harborfest website at www.oswegoharborfest.com or at the Harborfest office, 41 Lake St., Oswego, weekdays during normal working hours.

There is no application fee, but a clearly labeled CD and press or information kit must accompany each application.

The festival’s volunteer-driven Programming Committee will review all submissions as they are received and notify performers selected for appearances in early 2009.

Applications must be completed and returned to the Harborfest office with all requested information by no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2009.

All submissions become the property of Harborfest and cannot be returned.

Ongoing information regarding Harborfest 2009 planning and content will be posted on the Harborfest website as available.

Site users can also register for the Harborfest newsletter and receive copies of festival news releases and information bulletins.
