Part Of West Fifth To Be Closed

Submitted Article

OSWEGO, NY - Beginning as early as Monday, Sept. 15, the one-block section of West Fifth Street from Varick Street to Tallman Street will be closed to all traffic, each day from about 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for necessary construction work.

Construction crews will be repairing and replacing sewage lines, catch basins, curbing and sidewalks along the one-block section of West Fifth Street.

Work is scheduled to last approximately four weeks, and during that period traffic will be detoured around the construction zone during the above construction hours.

Residents in that area should be aware of temporary parking restrictions that will be in effect for the duration of the construction period.

In addition to West Fifth Street between Varick Street and Tallman Street, other restrictions may be in effect on the adjacent streets to help facilitate the traffic flow.

Areas that will be affected will be marked with bright orange “Temporary No Parking” signs.

Violators will be ticketed and towed.
