WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM EST SATURDAY.

* LOCATIONS…OSWEGO COUNTY.

* TIMING…THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

* HAZARDS…DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS.

* WINDS…NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH.

* WIND CHILLS…20 TO 30 BELOW ZERO.

* IMPACTS…BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS WILL POSE A RISK FOR FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA FOR ANYONE OUTSIDE FOR EVEN SHORT PERIODS OF TIME.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND CHILL WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN A STRONG WIND WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO CREATE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS FOR EXPOSED SKIN. THE WIND WILL MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR SEVERAL HOURS.

THOSE PLANNING TO VENTURE OUTDOORS SHOULD USE COMMON SENSE AND DRESS WARMLY.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN STRONG WIND WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO CREATE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS FOR EXPOSED SKIN.

THE WIND WILL MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 15 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR A PERIOD OF SEVERAL HOURS.

IF YOU WILL BE OUTDOORS USE COMMON SENSE AND DRESS WARMLY MAKING SURE THAT ALL EXPOSED SKIN IS COVERED.

IF POSSIBLE AVOID PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THE COLD TO PREVENT FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA.

Utica Man Facing Felony Drug Charges In Oswego

On February 26 investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force, assisted by officers of the Oswego City Police Department, stopped a Chevrolet Cobalt on State Route 481 north of County Route 57 in the city of Oswego. The ensuing investigation resulted in search warrants being issued and 8.2 grams of heroin were recovered from the person of Eugene J. Gibbs, 23, of 745 South St., Apartment #1, Utica, according to police.

New York’s Organ Donation Rate Still Low

The Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network recently launched an ad campaign called Pass Life On. There are a series of videos which talk about the importance of organ donation titled “The Greatest Person Never Known” which feature a grateful organ recipient. The ad campaign is designed to help improve the state’s organ donation registration rates, which continue to be much lower than other states.
