WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 AM EST SATURDAY.

* LOCATIONS…OSWEGO COUNTY.

* TIMING…THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

* HAZARDS…DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS.

* WINDS…NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH.

* WIND CHILLS…20 TO 30 BELOW ZERO.

* IMPACTS…BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS WILL POSE A RISK FOR FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA FOR ANYONE OUTSIDE FOR EVEN SHORT PERIODS OF TIME.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND CHILL WARNING IS ISSUED WHEN A STRONG WIND WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO CREATE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS FOR EXPOSED SKIN. THE WIND WILL MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR SEVERAL HOURS.

THOSE PLANNING TO VENTURE OUTDOORS SHOULD USE COMMON SENSE AND DRESS WARMLY.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN STRONG WIND WILL COMBINE WITH COLD TEMPERATURES TO CREATE DANGEROUSLY COLD CONDITIONS FOR EXPOSED SKIN.

THE WIND WILL MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 15 DEGREES BELOW ZERO OR COLDER FOR A PERIOD OF SEVERAL HOURS.

IF YOU WILL BE OUTDOORS USE COMMON SENSE AND DRESS WARMLY MAKING SURE THAT ALL EXPOSED SKIN IS COVERED.

IF POSSIBLE AVOID PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THE COLD TO PREVENT FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA.

Michael Barnes Flies to Budweiser International Classic 200 Pole Position

Oswego Speedway’s Budweiser International Classic 200 will be led to the green flag on Sunday by ‘The Hustler’ Michael Barnes, driving the Syrell Racing No. 68 Novelis Supermodified. Barnes cranked just the second 15.8 second lap in the history of non-wing Supermodified racing at the ‘Steel Palace’ on Friday night with a lap of 15.899 seconds.

Sandra Scott Travels: Enjoy A Leisurely Trip On The NYS Canal

I think everyone has at least one thing that is a must-do during the summer. For me it is spending time on the Erie Canal away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world. This year I took the MidLakes Navigation’s Emita II from Dutchman’s Landing to Cross Lake. The name Dutchman’s Landing intrigues me. Captain Dan Wiles explained that before MidLakes Navigation bought the land there was a bar there of the same name.

Aerial Spraying of Toad Harbor Area is Completed Sept. 4

Oswego County contracted with Duflo Spray-Chemical Inc. from Lowville to conduct the aerial spraying of about 10,000 acres of the Toad Harbor / Big Bay Swamp near the north shore of Oneida Lake to reduce the spread of the Eastern equine encephalitis virus, which is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito.

Fulton Police Make Arrests in Absolute Auto Grand Larceny Case

In August 2015, the Fulton Police Department received a complaint regarding a grand larceny that had occurred at the former Absolute Auto dealership, located at 807 S. First St. The victim was the owner of the building, and reported more than $100,000 worth of automotive tools, parts, and accessories stolen from the building, which he had leased to Absolute Auto for approximately the last five years.
