Unofficial Voting Results Firm Up Fulton Common Council Win

Democrat Dan Knopp beat Republican John Hansen, 221-94.  Knopp takes the seat being vacated by Alderman David Guyer.  Knopp had served on the Common Council.  He was appointed to fill an unexpired term but lost to Guyer in 2007.

Trinity Students Enjoy A Holiday Feast

<p>A couple of Trinity Catholic School students make their way through the serving line at Thursday's special feast.</p>

The youngsters and their guests enjoy a holiday meal with all the trimmings. The students’ grandparents and special friends were the guests of honor at Oswego County’s only Catholic school. The annual event is designed to honor everyone who helps the school and its students throughout the year, according to David Friedlander, principal.

Mixed Martial Arts School To Open In Oswego

It will teach various forms of self defense. Successfully completing the program can have a positive influence on the students, according to the owners.

Half-Shire Historical Society: Research Day Is This Weekend

On Saturday October 24, the society will open its doors from 10am until 4 pm for a full day of research. At noon the society will serve a roast ham lunch just prior to our regular monthly meeting. The meeting and lunch are open to the public. There are many new research volumes on the shelves, and even those familiar with our collections will be surprised.
