The Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County will hold its annual meeting and presentation to the community on April 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at The River Vista Conference Center in Fulton. The CAC’s annual meeting will include an eye-opening presentation on child sexual exportation in Oswego County. […]
Located at 4822 Salina St., the new location will allow the CAC to better serve the northern part of Oswego County. A non-profit charitable organization, the CAC provides a range of services to children who have been physically, sexually, or emotionally abused.
The Oswego County Child Protection Advisory Council will sponsor two more community forums to discuss issues of child abuse and neglect, one in Fulton and the other in Central Square. Council members are looking for the public input on how people can take action to strengthen families and communities, and reduce incidents of child abuse and maltreatment.
The Oswego County Child Protection Advisory Council will host two more community forums to provide opportunities for citizens to share their views and develop ideas for preventing child abuse in the county. The council has adopted the motto, “Our Children, Our County, Our Future – Our Responsibility.”
In an effort to raise awareness of this problem and empower parents and caregivers to combat it, the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County will host a luncheon workshop and discussion on this issue as part of the CAC’s 10th anniversary and National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Building relationships and community involvement were the common theme Wednesday night at the second in a series of forums on child protection in Oswego County. The Child Protection Advisory Council was created last year by the county legislature examine child protection issues in the county and report back to the legislature regarding possible improvements. The public will have a chance to be heard at two more meetings.
