Oswego School Board Names New Officers
John Dunsmoor, the board’s vice president for the 2010-2011 academic year, was appointed president. Kathy Allen was named to fill Dunsmoor’s previous spot.
The proposed spending plan for the 2011-12 school year is likely to cut some staff. However, the superintendent pointed out Wednesday night that there might be a “cushion” that allows for some cuts to be restored. The entire school board will debate the tentative budget at the Feb. 22 regular meeting.
Proponents claim if teachers teach an additional period a day it would be a win-win for everyone involved. Others say there is more to the situation than just adding one more period.
