In commemoration of Flag Day, a display of the many flags that have flown over Fort Ontario and the United States will be exhibited and explained by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Oswego Lodge #271. More than 250 school children will be at the old fort on June 14 at 10 a.m.

Oswego Third Graders Benefit From Elks Lodge Dictionary Project

Fitzhugh Park Elementary School third graders Jade Comstock, Karsyn Mahaney, Thomas Lee, Christian Butler and Brian Solazzo proudly display their new dictionaries. Also on hand are Elks members Jim Dillabough, Jan Pashley, FPS Principal Donna Simmons and Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist.

Just prior to the holiday season the Oswego Elks Lodge 271 representatives toured the local elementary schools and continued its support of area youth. For the seventh consecutive year the local fraternal organization has rallied to assist education with the donation of hundreds of student dictionaries to third graders throughout the Oswego City School District.
