“Welcome to the 17th season, 2018 opening day of Fulton Little League!” Vice president of Fulton Little League Dave Webber greeted an enormous crowd on Saturday’s (April 28) chilly opening day of the 2018 baseball and softball season. Eager players lined the third and first base lines at Kiwanis Ball Park while Weber, Little League president John Florek and Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. gave the season’s opening remarks.

Rain, Cold Doesn’t Halt Fulton Little League Opening 15th Season

A chilly opening day and a rainy first week hasn’t halted the kickoff of the 2017 Little League baseball and softball season in Fulton. Players from all divisions gathered together last weekend to officially begin the season with help from league officials and the Syracuse Chiefs minor league baseball team mascot, Scooch. Roughly 280 participants from 23 teams ranging in age from 4 to 12 years old lined the first and third baselines of John Florek Field as Fulton Little League’s vice president, Dave Weber and president, Florek introduced the 15th season of Little League in Fulton.

Fulton Little League Throws Opening Pitch

Fulton Little League recently held an opening day ceremony to officially welcome the youth’s baseball and softball season. On a warm, sunny Saturday (April 30) Fulton Little League participants all gathered on the first and third base lines of John Florek Field at Kiwanis Ball Park, anxiously awaiting the official opening of the 2016 season. With 300 participants this year, players ranged from ages 3-12 for different leagues including T-ball, coach pitch, and minors and majors baseball and softball marched on the field in their colorful new uniforms. After each team was announced and players waved their hats in recognition, Little League Vice President Dave Webber; Little League President, John Florek and Mayor of Fulton, Ronald Woodward Sr. delivered the season’s opening remarks.
