Judge Rules In Favor Of Pauldine
The local businessman was acquitted today on charges that he had sexual contact with a boy younger than 17 years old last fall. He was facing two misdemeanor charges.
UPDATED Anthony Pauldine has opted for a non-jury trial. In Oswego City Court Tuesday he decided to let City Court Judge James Metcalf review the transcripts from the trial held earlier this spring. That trial ended in a hung jury. We thought that it was going to be very difficult to get a jury that had not been influenced and or had some run in with the past trial, his lawyer said.
After deliberating for about four and a half hours the six-person jury told the judge it felt as if they were deadlocked. The judge instructed them to continue deliberations. However, at the end of the day, no verdict had been reached. Deliberations will resume Friday morning. […]
