Youth Bureau Hosts Traveling Arts in the Parks This Summer

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau announces its 2014 schedule for the Traveling Arts in the Parks series. Each event is free and open to the public.

Joe Trionfero will kick off the 2014 season with his popular “Show of Love” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 at East Park on East Bridge Street in the city of Oswego.

Trionfero uses a high-energy mixture of music and humor to engage and interact with his audiences.

Doug Rougeux entertains audiences with BubbleMania! for two shows this summer.

The first performance is at 1 p.m. June 21 at the Granby Town Hall on County Route 8 and the second show is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 16 at East Park on East Bridge Street in Oswego.

Keeping bubbles fresh for two decades, Rougeaux enthralls his audiences with his amazing shows that combine bubbles, juggling and humor.

Magical John appears July 22 at 10 a.m. at Goettel Community Park on U.S. Route 11 in Central Square.

This musical magic show is part illusion, part comedy and all fun for the whole family!

Nels Ross will bring his side-splitting, gravity-defying presentation to three parks this summer.

His first performance will take place at 11 a.m. on Aug. 20 at the Scriba Town Park on O’Connor Road.

After that he will head to Constantia’s David C. Webb Park on State Route 49 on Aug. 20 for a 2 p.m. performance before ending his day with a 7 p.m. show that day at East Park on East Bridge Street in the city of Oswego.

Ross is an internationally known performer who combines comedy and juggling with hilarious and awe inspiring results.

Traveling Arts in the Parks is funded by Oswego County, the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, Kiwanis Club and participating town and city municipal programs.
