Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow addressed the incident by saying, “We have absolutely zero tolerance in the city of Oswego for this sort of behavior within city government. This behavior does not reflect the other employees at the Department of Public Works and Oswego taxpayers deserve better. We have already terminated one employee and we are currently reviewing all information to make a determination on the future of the second employee involved. We will finish that review by the end of business today. We believe this to be an isolated incident involving exclusively these two employees. I commend the work done by the Oswego Police Department. The Department of Public Works has worked with the Oswego Police Department to fully investigate this issue and we will continue to closely monitor our employees to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. We will further continue our zero-tolerance policy moving forward.”
