Oswego Middle School Evacuated

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Middle School was  evacuated for a while this morning (Oct. 7).

A threatening note had been  found in the building.

For safety reasons students have been evacuated to a safe, sheltered area while city police and district officials search the building.

After an exhaustive, extensive search of the school was completed, nothing suspicious was found.

Students have returned to the building to continue their school day.

Parents are being advised not to come to the school. The students will be returned to the building after the search is completed.

“I would like to recognize the efficient response by building administrators and staff as well as the Oswego City Police Department,” said Bill Crist, superintendent. “As always we are focused on the safety of our students. Our seventh and eighth graders are to be congratulated for their cooperation throughout the evacuation process”
