The 23rd annual reunion of the descendants of Darius and Huludia (Tilton) Ballou and Archibald and Jane (MacCaughan) McCaw will be held Sept. 1 at the home of Shawn Doyle, 85 Lake St., Pulaski.
A noon chicken bar-b-que lunch will be served followed by a day of catching up and reflection.
Horseshoes, volleyball and river tubing will also be available through the day.
The annual reunion, normally held in Redfield, has been moved this year by family consensus.
A Friday night dinner and bonfire will precede the weekend events as family members arrive from out of town.
Darius Ballou (1834-1903) lived in the Parish area before leaving his family for the outer banks of North Carolina.
His wife, Huludia Tilton (1841-1909) was from another pioneer Oswego County family. She raised their son in Howardville.
Archibald and Jane McCaw came from Ballycastle in Antrim, Northern Ireland.
They came to Redfield in 1854 and raised a large family there.
Claude Ballou married Nellie McCaw in 1907 uniting these families.
The families now are represented by large numbers of Walker, Burminghams, Randalls, Warrens, Mattesons, Sawyers and Holcombs from other North Country families.
Complete family trees and scores of photo albums will be on hand during the weekend.
