FULTON – Fulton City School District students interested in science, technology, engineering, art and math courses are invited to the second annual GRB Spring STEAM Showcase later this month.
The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 26 at G. Ray Bodley High School, where Fulton Junior High School and GRB students interested in the aforementioned fields will explore the passion of current GRB students enrolled in STEAM courses.
Parents are also encouraged to attend the showcase to educate themselves more about what their children learn at GRB and tour technology classrooms.
New and original student work will be featured throughout the event, which also will include presentations encompassing the various technology courses offered at GRB.
Showcase highlights include: Auto Tech 1 students’ demonstration of piston re-installation, spark and compression testing; Auto Tech 2 students’ presentation of their semester project of the high-mileage vehicle; Civil Engineering and Architecture students’ presentation of their plans for repurposing existing commercial buildings and Design and Drawing for Production students’ presentation of their design projects in the areas of sports helmet design and the future of manufactured products.
DDP students will also conduct hands-on problem solving and design challenges for guests to try.
Additional highlights will be: Photography students’ exhibition of their original photos and Raider Robotics team members’ demonstration of their award-winning robot capabilities. Showcase attendees will be encouraged to drive the team’s robots.
Technology labs will be open for viewing throughout the event and Vocational Education students will present their senior projects in metal and wood fabrication, such as a dump trailer and a cedar wood strip canoe.
Also featured in the GRB Spring STEAM Showcase include: an art showcase, three musical performances stages, 44 science-led presentations and refreshments for guests to enjoy.
