Thela M. Squires, 79, of Westminster, Maryland, formerly of Fulton died Tuesday at Westminster Ridge Senior Living Center in Westminster, Maryland.
Born in Syracuse on June 16, 1932 she lived most of her life in Fulton. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Ola Pierce and wife of the late John C. Squires.
Thela graduated from Michigan State University and taught home economics at the Fulton Junior High School from 1954 to 1986.
She was a member of State Street United Methodist Church, the New York State Retired Teachers Association, Friends of History in Fulton, Fulton Women’s Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Carroll County Historical Society and various art associations.
She enjoyed painting, crafting, volunteering and spending time with her three grandchildren.
Surviving; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan E. and David K. Foote of Westminster, Maryland and three grandchildren, Austin, Ethan and Isabella.
A calling hour will be held Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. with a 2 p.m. service to immediately follow at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Burial will be at Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.
