Troopers Make Arrest In Drive-By Shooting in Granby

Fulton, NY – State Police in Fulton arrested 28-year-old Eric J. Gardner for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony.

The investigation determined that five rounds from a firearm were discharged into the residence, nearly striking an 11-year-old occupant who was sleeping at the time.

There were no injuries reported from this incident.

The subsequent investigation led State Police Investigators to a town of Dewitt motel room, where Gardner was located and taken into custody.

Gardner, a resident of room 103 at the Motel 6, 6577 Baptist Way, East Syracuse, NY, was also charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a Class E felony, after the investigation determined that he possessed a handgun which was reported stolen from a burglary in the town of Hastings in 2009.

Gardner was arraigned in the Town of Dewitt  and remanded to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $100,000 cash/$200,000 bond.

Additional charges are pending in Oswego County upon the completion of the Granby investigation.


State Police in Fulton say they are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred shortly after 4 a.m. today at a residence located at 82 Chase Road in the town of Granby.

No injuries are reported at this time.

Troopers were  on the scene earlier today searching for the suspect.
