Rally Brings Victory to Bucs

Oswego High School varsity boys’ senior night started off with photos, smiles and celebration.

However, the Cicero-North Syracuse NorthStars appeared ready to ruin the final regular season home experience for not only the seniors, but the underclassmen, families and students, when they jumped out to a 14-2 lead midway through the first quarter.

When the night ended the Bucs walked off with a hard fought 64-53 victory to chalk up their ninth win of the year.

Oswego came alive, rebounds started going the Bucs way, shots started to go in and OHS became much more aggressive on defense.

By the end of the first quarter the 12-point deficit was trimmed down to six points with CNS leading 16-10.

Oswego went on a second quarter run behind the efforts of Josh Gillard and Dustin Sands and at halftime the Bucs were up 23-21.

The third quarter remained tight with the teams entering the final quarter with Oswego leading 43-39.

CNS kept the game close, but Oswego was able to build up a lead as the final minutes wore down.
