Fulton, NY – There is a new reason to smile in Fulton, New York. A new photography studio named, Studio 160 is opening its doors to the city. The business, located at 160 South 3rd Street, which opened on December 1, is hoping to bring back customer service and a personal touch to portrait and family photography within the community of Fulton as well as Oswego County.
According to Studio 160 owner and operator Pete Foster, “Photography is more than a job, it is a passion I discovered in high school, and I am just now able to practice full-time.” Foster, a Fulton, New York native graduated from G. Ray Bodley High School in 2001 where his interest for photography was sparked by working with the school newspaper, The Raider. Foster then went on to obtain a bachelors of fine arts from Cazenovia College in 2005. Foster has won several photography contests and has even self-published a book on his photography and experiences at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Studio 160 is a small studio that has potential to grow. The studio consists of two rooms, an office / reception area and a main studio area. Nestled in a quaint 19th century house, it offers a warm and inviting atmosphere for clients to come and have their photos taken. Foster stated, “I’ve spoken with people in Fulton, and they really don’t like the “sales-orientated,” stuffy atmosphere that they have with going to the chain stores. People also want to get out of the studio set-up. More and more families want personalized photos in their homes, outside in parks, or doing things that they love, like fishing or racing cars for example. And unlike big box store studios, Studio 160 can offer a completely unique and customized experience.”
Services that Studio 160 specializes in are wedding, portrait, glamour, maternity and newborn imagery. Foster commented, “A lot more mothers want to capture their journey through pregnancy and their newborns soon after being born. This is both a magical time for mothers and the perfect time to start to document and more importantly celebrate your child’s life.” In addition, people will be able to purchase gift certificates for family and friends. Gift certificates are a great opportunity to offer a unique and personal gift to someone who may have something coming up in their life like the addition of a new child or a couple who just became engaged.
At this time, Studio 160’s hours of operation are by appointment. People interested in seeing the quality of work, as well as packages and pricing offered can go to Studio 160’s website at: www.photostudio160.com. Foster concluded with, “Photography isn’t just about making images, it is about creating memories that last generations. I want to create photos that will sit on mantles, hang on walls, fill up Facebook and will turn into treasured family gems. Foster strives to bring the businesses tagline to life, “where moments become memories.”
