The goal of the program is to help give local youth opportunities to become physically active and make healthy nutritional choices.

The schedule includes the following days and times:

Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Breitbeck Park and, 1 – 3 p.m. at East Park.

Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. – noon at West Park and, 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Park.

Times are subject to change.

Children younger than 12 are recommended to have an adult with them.

AmeriCorps members Cynthia Emrich and Erin Chetney are providing equipment in conjunction with Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and the City of Oswego for games and activities for youth.

“We are having an average of about 20 kids so far at each park,” Emrich said. “If there is lightning or thunder we will not be in the parks. But, if it is just raining, we will be at Breitbeck with crafts, coloring and small games under the pavillion.”
