Alton G. LeClair, 74

OSWEGO, NY – Alton G. LeClair, 74, a resident of 1020 Emery St., Fulton, passed away on Oct. 26, 2009, at his home.

Born in Ellenburg NY, he was a son of the late Leo and Eva (Longtin) LeClair and had attended Oswego schools.

Mr. LeClair was employed with the Nestle’s chocolate factory in Fulton for more than 30 years.

Prior to his service there, he sold life insurance for Metropolitan Life.

In his free time he enjoyed repairing antique clocks and was a member of the NWACC(National Watch and Clock Collectors).

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, the former Karen Shatraw; five daughters, Michelle (Robert) Narad of Fulton, Norine LeClair of Syracuse, Danise (Roger) Dennison of Fulton, Sherri Arnold of Hannibal and Lynn (Scott) Moroz of Fulton; two sons, Daniel LeClair of Hannibal and Patrick (Lisa) LeClair of Somer; a brother, Leigh LeClair of Oswego; a daughter-in-law, Carol Alnutt of Oswego; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Robert Alnutt, in 1998; his sister, Beverly; and two brothers, Joseph and Vincent.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in St. Edmund’s Cemetery in Ellenburg, NY.

Contributions may be made to the Oswego County Hospice, P.O. Box 102, Oswego, NY 13126.

Arrangements are in care of the Dowdle Funeral Home.
