Alzheimer’s Association Workshop Planned June 8


OSWEGO – Bishop’s Commons in Oswego will host the first of a three-part educational program by the Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter entitled, “Living with Alzheimer’s” For Early-Stage Caregivers,” on June 8 from 3:30 to 7 p.m.

Alzheimer’s Association WorkshopBishop’s Commons is located at 4 Burkle St., on the St. Luke residential campus in the city of Oswego.

This educational program is free of charge and open to the public.

In the early stage of Alzheimer’s disease, families face new questions as they adjust.

This three-part series is designed to provide care partners with the knowledge; tool and strategies needed to cope with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or related dementia.

We will address:

• Symptoms associated with early-stage Alzheimer’s

• Planning for the future

• Strategies for coping with changes

• Developing a medical team

• Disclosing the diagnosis and work issues

• Legal and financial issues

• Safety issues

• Caring for yourself

Registration for the “Living with Alzheimer’s: For Early-Stage Caregivers” workshop is required.
