American Red Cross to hold Celebrity Bartender Fundraiser

The American Red Cross will be holding its monthly Celebrity Bartender event Tuesday, June 14th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Tavern on the Lock in Fulton with Melissa Killian. Music will be provided by Galen McCowan. All tips are donated to benefit the fundraising efforts of the American Red Cross of Central New York.

Killian is looking forward to being this month’s celebrity bartender. She is currently a member of the Fulton Rotary and is very active in her local community. She has helped raised funds to help aid community projects and Not for Profit organizations such as Oswego County Opportunities and the Fulton YMCA. The Rotary also helps raise money for international projects like Pennies for Polio, to eradicate polio worldwide as well as local projects.

When Killian is not out helping Not for Profits she is busy with her business. She is co-owner of Salon 115 in Fulton and has been in business for the past 8 years along with her sister. Killian stated she will donate a dollar for every haircut she does between May 14th-June 14th.

Killian joins a long list of local “celebrities” who are chosen based on their sense of community spirit. Some of the future celebrities that will be volunteering are Stacie Rose, Jim Holmes, Maria Johnson, Cindy Ciesla, Deana Michaels and Kimberly Steele.
