FULTON – AmeriCorps member Kamie Brown is working along side of the Fulton CYO summer program at Catholic Charities of Oswego County.
It is a free program for children in Oswego County from second grade through eighth grade.
Along with the free program, a free breakfast and lunch are provided through a collaboration with OCO.
AmeriCorps provides activities to help promote a healthy life style through fitness and nutrition.
Every Tuesday the children are invited to try new ways to eat healthy foods.
Making frozen yogurt and trying Quinoa are among some of the tasty treats that have been made.
The AmeriCorps program also works with the CYO staff to promote an active lifestyle.
Capture the flag, dance parties and various other activities are offered every day to help keep kids active.
The program began July 5 and runs through August 26, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
