Oswego County AmeriCorps member Amanda Barker is hosting a drive at the Selkirk Shores State Park Recreation Center.
AmeriCorps is a program that improves lives, strengthens communities and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering.
This drive will benefit the children of all ages who participate in the activities at the center.
The goal of the drive is to enhance opportunities for the children campers who really depend on the center.
Barker is asking for any type of sports equipment, safety gear, arts and craft materials, toys and board games.
Barker encourages others to help make a difference and said, “Take advantage of this opportunity to make a contribution to your community today while also benefiting from the intrinsic rewards that come along with helping children out.”
Donations can be dropped off at the Selkirk Park Office located at 7101 State Route 3 in Pulaski.
“The equipment will be used for the kids that camp at Selkirk. The beach is currently closed, so a lot of kids really enjoy the recreation center,” seh explained.
