FULTON – Members of Oswego County AmeriCorps will host a community restoration project at Fulton’s Recreation Park at 2:30 p.m. on Arbor Day, April 27. Several local businesses and volunteers have supported the project and the public is invited to join in the effort.
“This park is next to G. Ray Bodley High School and is the environment where thousands of kids, our next generation, pass each and every day,” said AmeriCorps member and project organizer Jessica Naioti. “We are asking for the community’s help in sprucing it up.”
The event will feature activity areas for music, face painting, arts and crafts, tree plantings, and food and drinks. Local musicians and artists will participate.
Several local businesses and organizations have contributed to the project.
They include the city of Fulton, Friends of Fulton Parks, G. Ray Bodley High School Environmental Club, Youth 4 Youth Club, C & B Garden Supply, Price Chopper, Tractor Supply Company, Wal-Mart, Paul’s Nursery, Fed Ex, and Fulton United Methodist church. Individuals who have offered to volunteer and support the event include Ashley Sheldon, Tracie Ormsby, BeckiSue Stowell, Shelly Harmony, Amanda Frey, Dave Guyer, Barry Ostrander, Nick Kelsey, Justin Hurley, Terri O’Brian, Liz Enwright, and Dannon Trahan.
Families, volunteers and donations are welcome.
