Annual Bug Run to benefit The MSGW Foundation

The Oswego County Comets Motorcycle Riding Club invites you to attend the Third Annual Bug Run to benefit The MSGW Foundation, Inc.

The 501c3 not-for-profit corporation was organized after the tragic death of five year old Maggie Sue Glenister Wilcox of New Haven, who died in August of 2011 from the deadly Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus.

At last year's Bug Run - Comets' president, Jeff Beardslee and MSGW Foundation member Barb Wilcox, grandmother of Maggie Sue Glenister Wilcox, just before the ride left Hazzy's Tavern.

The Oswego County Comets is a historically long-standing, civic-minded group of motorcycle enthusiasts from the community with one thing shared in common; a great love of the open road.

The MSGW Foundation’s mission is to secure the funding necessary for the research and development of a human vaccine for EEE, while promoting awareness and the methods by which those you love can be protected from falling victim to the virus.

This year’s Bug Run will be held on June 14, at the Home of the Comets’, Hazzy’s Tavern, in beautiful, scenic, downtown New Haven.

Event registration begins at 10 a.m. with kickstands up at noon for a 150-mile motorcycle ride to include a hot dog and soda lunch on the shores of Lake Ontario at Selkirk Shores State Park.

The cost per driver is $20 and $15 per rider, which includes lunch on the lake and a full chicken BBQ dinner upon return to Hazzy’s from the awareness ride.

Even if you do not ride, please join us for the Bug Run, as both The Comets and The MSGW Foundation are offering silent auction/Chinese raffles throughout the day and BBQ chicken will be available for purchase at $6 per half chicken.

Come and help The Oswego County Comets in the search for the cure for Eastern Equine Encephalitis!
