Annual Parade of Trees Begins Monday

FULTON, NY – The 20th Annual Parade of Trees will be on view December 1 – 12 at the Pratt House Museum, 177 South First Street, Fulton.  In coordination with the Christmas display, the Museum is once again a drop-off site for the local Toys for Tots campaign.

The display includes fourteen Christmas trees decorated with various themes by local organizations, clubs, and youth and children’s groups.  Participants in this year’s display include: First Step UPK; Fourth Street School – Special Education; Fulton Community Nursery School; Fulton Family YMCA; Fulton First United Methodist Church; Fulton Junior High School; Fulton Public Library – Children’s Room; Girl Scouts – Fulton Service Unit; G. Ray Bodley High School – Room 127; Greater Fulton Business Committee of the Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce; Noah’s Nursery School; Sharing and Caring Breast Cancer Group of Oswego County; Towpath Towers; Women’s Club of Fulton.

Visitors vote for their favorite trees in three categories, adult, youth, and children. Winners in each category receive a first prize of $100, second prize of $75, and third prize of $50.

The Friends of History sincerely thank the sponsors of this popular community event for their generosity and loyal support.  Sponsors include: Fulton Savings Bank (1st place prizes in all categories), Streeter & VanSanford, Inc. (2nd place prizes in all categories), Stephen Wise of Edward Jones Investments (3rd place prize in adult category), Dowd’s House of Flowers (3rd place prize in youth category), Blue Moon Grill (3rd place prize in children category).

The public is invited to view the decorated trees and vote for their favorites, Monday through Friday from 12noon to 3 p.m. and Saturday, December 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  All are invited to a Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. with refreshments and music provided by the Canfield family.  School tours are available weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon by appointment.

When visiting, please consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy as a donation to Toys for Tots.
