The official ‘kick off to the holiday’ begins Sunday, November 30th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Oliver Paine Greenhouses’ Annual Poinsettia Open House, 125 South Granby Road, Fulton.

Experience the 10-foot tall poinsettia tree filled with all of the vibrant poinsettia colors.  “It’s fun to see many of our customers take their holiday photo in front of our tree-it’s become a holiday tradition.  And remember, poinsettias are safe for everyone—you can even bring the family pet!” says Cindy Paine.

Dan Duggan plays his hammered dulcimer to entertain everyone throughout the day.  You’re invited to enjoy refreshments too, while you stroll through the colorful isles of cyclamen, Christmas cactus, poinsettias, kissing balls, wreaths and more. “You’ll want to check out of the new ‘gardeners gifts’ and ‘home décor items’ Diana and Cindy found on their buying trip—reindeer planters, bird house ornaments, pedestal wreath hangers, primitive colonial style décor and more,” says Oliver Paine.

For those who enjoy ‘making their own decorations and gifts’, Oliver Paine Greenhouses has Fun Shops scheduled throughout the season; The Kissing Ball Fun Shop is Saturday Dec 6th at 10 a.m.  Create a holiday tradition with a fragrant kissing ball of evergreen, decorated with festive ribbon, berries and cones—it’s a wonderful way to welcome your friends.  The Fresh Holiday Centerpiece Fun Shop is Saturday, Dec 13th at 10 a.m.  Handcraft a lovely table centerpiece for the holidays with fragrant evergreens and seasonal decorations. The Boxwood Tree Fun Shop is Saturday, December 20th at 10 a.m.  Using fresh boxwood greens they’ll help you create a miniature Christmas tree for your holiday decorating.  Fun Shops last about 1 1/2 hours and include all materials and refreshments.
