Annual Pyrotechnic Display To Celebrate 30 Years Of Harborfest

OSWEGO, NY – For many of the hundreds of thousands of people who travel to Oswego for its annual Harborfest, the breathtaking Saturday night fireworks spectacular by Grucci is indisputably the highlight of their weekend.

This year, the incredible pyrotechnics have a special meaning.

Entergy Nuclear, a longtime sponsor of the display, has committed to sponsoring the fireworks for Harborfest’s 30th anniversary celebration.

The 30th Oswego Harborfest will take place from July 27 to 30.

The festival will provide free music and entertainment from nationally known and local acts, and a wide array of food and other vendors.

Oswego Harborfest Executive Director Peter Myles said, “I’m honored that my second year as executive director falls on such a special anniversary for Harborfest. The Entergy sponsored Grucci fireworks are a huge draw for thousands of locals and tourists, so I’m really excited to see them put on an exceptional show for our 30th birthday.”

“Entergy, which formerly owned the FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant, has sponsored the fireworks for 16 years and pledged to do so again for the 30th anniversary event,” he added. “FitzPatrick employees have a long-standing tradition of supporting the event with countless volunteer hours behind the scenes. We are thankful that support will continue and is encouraged by the plant’s new owner Exelon Generation, which also operates the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Plant, another strong supporter of Harborfest.”

Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country.

It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego.

It would not be possible to continue the event without the massive continued support received from the city of Oswego, businesses, organizations, government entities and individuals and family members.
