Anthony C. Miceli, 78

OSWEGO, NY – Anthony C. Miceli, 78, of Oswego, died Wednesday December 17, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

He was born in Oswego to the late Salvatore and Josephine (Gambino) Miceli.

Mr. Miceli was retired from the Iron Workers Local #60 after 28 years of service.

He also worked as a real estate agent for 15 years with Century 21, Oswego.

Mr. Miceli served for several years with the United States Army National Guard and United States Air National Guard.

He was an avid volunteer serving as an usher, Eucharistic Minister and past trustee at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto.

Mr. Miceli was a Minetto Cub Master for Boy Scouts of America PAC #819.

He volunteered as a bingo caller, and served as past president of the Dante Alighieri Club, Oswego.

Mr. Miceli is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine Miceli of Oswego; three children: Catherine (Charles) Reed of Hemlock, NY, James (Debra) Miceli of Hannibal, NY and Jean Peterson of Bath, NY; one sister, Nicasia “Gussie” Cerklewich of Oswego; six grandchildren: Justin, Michael, Amanda, Angela, Alicia and Anthony; six great-grandchildren: Ashley, Landon, Mathias, Trenton, Olivia and Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Church where Rev. Smegelsky will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be held in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.

Donations may be made in honor of Mr. Miceli to the Human Concerns Center, 85 E. Fourth St., Oswego, NY 13126.
