Anything Goes! To Be Staged At Oswego High School

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego High School Music Department will present the riotous musical comedy Anything Goes! at the Robinson-Faust Theater for the Performing Arts February 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m.

In 1934, America was deep into the Great Depression and those who could afford a theatre ticket demanded frothy, escapist musical comedies to ease their troubles.

The debonair composer Cole Porter poured all of his wit and humor into Anything Goes!, creating a classic musical comedy that has remained as effervescent and hilarious as the day it premiered 82 years ago.

Young Wall Street broker Billy Crocker (Doug Schneider) accidentally boards the luxury liner SS American and bumps into his old flame Reno Sweeney (Rachel Leotta), Hope Harcourt, the debutante he loves (Lauren Boshart), Hope’s fiancé Lord Evelyn Oakleigh and her mother Evangeline (Nolan Callahan and Olivia DeLorenzo), the haphazard criminal Moonface Martin and his moll Erma (Sam Spaulding & Leah Mullen), and his tipsy Wall Street boss Elisha Whitney (Trent Wilkinson).

Other members of the cast include Nathaniel Ahart as the Captain, Jack Lee as the Purser, John Syrell and Andrew Bornheimer as the Chinese Christians John and Luke; Celia Fitzgerald, Sarah Fitzgibbons, Leah Taylor, and Ally Choate as Reno’s Angels; Mary Bornheimer, Maria Foti, Tea Habeeb, and Haley Baker as the Featured Women’s Ensemble; Liam Tovey, Will Bandla, Hermes Jimenez, Jordan Runner, Travis Domick, Daniel Emmons, Derek Putnam, and Matt Oldenberg as the Featured Men’s Ensemble; with Emily Alnutt, Alyssa Cheeley, Julia Choate, Abby Cook, Hayley Domicolo, Marissa Forger, Sierra Palmer, Caitlyn Fowler, Val Gamino, Miranda Gilbert, Matt Gill, Sophia Griffiths, Bella Herrera, Leah Horn, Rebecca Ingersall, Veronica Jones, Mya Kinder, Alyssa Lee, Abby McPherson, Derek Pascuzzi, Dieonte Parker, Katie Shene, Eric Young, and Aidan Osmun as members of the ensemble.

The production staff of Anything Goes! includes stage direction by Garrett Heater, music direction by Robert Dumas, choreography by Amanda Kurey, costumes by Jeanette Reyner and Pat Van Wie, set construction by Steve Braun, sound design by TJ Bandla, stage management by Kara Swindells, and properties by Ellie Page.
