PARISH – The graduating class of 2016 at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District completed their first-ever “Senior Walk” on the last day of school at the APW elementary building.
Administration, teachers, faculty, parents, friends and students cheered on the class of 2016 as they walked the halls dressed in their caps and gowns.
Younger students held signs saying “congratulations” and “way to go!” Some of the students blew bubbles in the air and others clapped and rang noisemakers.
The halls were filled with homemade flowers, balloons, decorations and signs.
This was the first year APW has ever done a “graduation walk” at the elementary school and everyone involved felt the “end result” of the graduates’ hard work.
The district felt that the senior walk was a great way to honor the graduating class and also a means to give the younger “APW Rebels” someone to look up to as well as something to aspire to.
