PARISH – Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary School students showcased their vocal and instrumental talents in front of a packed gymnasium during the school’s Spring Festival of the Arts.
The Fourth Grade Chorus performed “Dry Bones” and “Cat Came Back” before Director William Patterson invited guests to sing along to their closing piece, “Firework,” by Katy Perry.
Up next was the Fourth Grade Band, directed by Michele Catania.
Students played “Rock Out!” “Big Beat Boogie” and a collection of their favorite songs from their band book.
Catania later directed the Fifth and Sixth Grade band, which performed “March America,” “Li’l Liza Jane,” “Rising Star” and “All Star.”
The Fifth and Sixth Grade chorus, also directed by Patterson, sang “Scaled and Arpeggios” before the popular Disney hit “Lion Sleeps Tonight.”
Students chose their closing song, “Youth.”
Both choruses performed in front of a beautiful handmade spring backdrop, complete with a large sun, flowers and insects.
During the evening concert, parents and guests were encouraged to walk around the school to check out drawings, paintings and other works created by students as part of the Spring Festival of the Arts.
