Fourth graders at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown recently traded in their “Rebel blue” for Syracuse orange as they toured Syracuse University.
The field trip provided the students with a first-hand glimpse of the opportunities available to them at the collegiate level.
They gathered in a classroom on campus to watch an informational video presentation and followed that up with a question-and-answer session.
The APW students peppered current Syracuse University students with a variety of questions about college life.
According to APW teacher Lisa Lagowski, the fourth graders learned about different academic majors, clubs and extracurricular activities and scholarship opportunities.
In addition, the students also toured the campus and got a real taste of college life by having lunch in a dining hall.
“It was a great trip and the kids learned a lot,” Lagowski said.
