APW Junior High Chapter of NJHS Holds Induction


PARISH – Members of the National Junior Honor Society at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior/Senior High School gathered for a photo following the induction ceremony where ten new members were welcomed into the local chapter.

The APW Junior High School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society held an induction ceremony where10 new members were welcomed into the prestigious organization.

National Junior Honor Society, much like its senior high school counterpart, the National Honor Society, NJHS is an organization established to recognize students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship at the middle grade levels of seventh and eighth grades.

The 10 new members inducted in the recent ceremony were presented with certificates of membership as essays written by each inductee were read by current members.

New inductees included: Ryder Alt, Makayla Cobb, Sawyer Garrett, Megan Leemann, Mikayla Mattison, Julliana Phillips, Kolby Robinson, Charley Skellington-Bice, Harley West and Evelyn Butterworth. Advisor for the chapter is DeLaine Trexler.

Current members participating in the ceremony included Kathryn Trumble, Sydney Townsend, Miranda Hamilton, Amelia Auringer, Allisyn Scott, Alivia Turk, Jordan Ostrander, Vanessa Dupree, Allison Lenhart, Abigail Skellington-Bice and Aida Causevic.

APW Superintendent Eric Knuth and APW JSHS Principal Joe Olsen assisted in the induction ceremony welcoming the new members.
