APW Marching Band to Represent New York State in National Parade

The Altmar Parish Williamstown Marching Band and Color Guard have been invited to be an official representative of the State of New York in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. on July 4, 2010.

The parade, which takes place annually on July 4th, begins at 11:45 a.m. on Constitution Avenue and goes from 7th to 17th Street in our nation’s capital while hundreds of thousands of spectators line the parade route. For consideration in the national parade event, bands must submit a video recording, photos, and biographical information detailing experience, honors, festival ratings to the selection committee before an invitation to participate in this prestigious parade is extended.

With the acceptance of this invitation, the young musicians from APW will be presented with a once in a life time opportunity to experience the nation’s capital on July 4th, the chance to be a part of the National Independence Parade, unparalleled educational opportunities, the excitement of the televised National Symphony Concert on the Capitol Lawn, a spectacular fireworks display and the memories of a lifetime.

The total cost of this trip is $43,039.00. For those who would like to help sponsor these young musicians, donations can be mailed to: The APW Band Boosters, P O Box 11, Williamstown, NY 13493 or to APW High School c/o Janet Fiacco at 639 County Route 22, Parish, NY 13131.
