Submitted by the APW School District
Residents in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District will have the opportunity to meet the candidates vying for the open seats on the APW Board of Education at a special “Meet the Candidates Night” to be held on May 10th beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Library Media Center at APW High School.
The prospective board candidates will answer questions developed by students in Steve Prusack’s 12th grade Economics/Participation in Government class as well as give their best argument for why they should represent district residents on the school board. Light refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend.
Meet the Candidates Night is coordinated by the APW Faculty Association to provide an opportunity for voters to make informed choices on candidates running for board seats. There are two open seats in the coming election.
Residents of the APW District will vote May 17th, on four propositions including the budget and transportation propositions, as well as a proposition to amend the scope of the Capital Project to include a press box, and a library proposition to support the Williamstown Public Library. They will also vote for two board candidates.
The vote will be held at the District Office, 639 County Route 22, Parish, from Noon to 9:00 p.m.
