APW Soccer Team Honors Coach in Cancer Awareness Game

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Varsity Soccer team surprised coach Kara Perkins with a special tribute during a recent away game in Cazenovia. The lady Rebels and co-coach George Parker, back row, are pictured with Coach Kara Perkins, second row center, wearing purple shirts to show their support of Perkin’s courageous battle over Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The tribute took place in conjunction with the Cazenovia team’s recognition of breast cancer awareness month. Perkins, a 2005 APW graduate, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2006. Today, she is a substitute teacher in the APW School District, the varsity soccer coach, modified volleyball, and modified softball coach.
