The Universal Pre-Kindergarten program in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District is accepting applications for the upcoming 2014-15 school year.
APW UPK is a half-day program providing a variety of exciting educational experiences to help students develop academically, socially, and emotionally as well as achieve their highest potential.
The program is operated with a state grant and is offered at no cost to children turning four years old on or before December 1, 2014. Children cannot be of school age and must be a legal resident of the APW School District.
The UPK program follows the same school calendar observed by the APW District with both a morning and an afternoon session. Students in the morning program are served breakfast and students in the afternoon program are served lunch.
The district will continue to provide transportation to the program, which is hosted at the APW Elementary School, located on County Route 22 across from the APW Junior/Senior High School.
An informational letter and registration packet have been mailed to parents of eligible pre-school children within the APW School District.
Completed applications along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate and immunization records are due by February 28.
If you did not receive the registration packet in the mail and would like to apply for the APW UPK program, stop by the main office at APW Elementary School or call (315) 625-5260.
In the event there are more than 36 applicants, the district will use a lottery system to fill the sessions.
