Splash Into Savings at Enchanted Forest/Water Safari

With the price of gas entering record highs, traveling far may not be the answer for summer vacations. There are ways for people to enjoy refreshing summer fun without taking a huge blow to their wallets. The answer is short trips and one Adirondack business has it all figured out. Your best get wet bet this summer for an affordable price is to stay close to home and make a trip to Old Forge, NY where you’ll find New York’s Largest Water Theme Park – the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari! All over the neighborhood, families are getting ready, “Are You Ready?” asks the park’s 2008 advertising slogan. “Are you ready for thrills, spills, action and excitement? – That’s our main focus,” says Katie Noonan, marketing director for the park, “but it goes beyond that, especially this summer with the price of gas. We’re also asking, are you ready to save money, save time, make that short drive for your summer vacation? We think the answer to that question is yes, that’s why we’re making it known that we are a short drive away and there are ways to save money.”

With the realization that people need and want to save extra money to cover the necessities of today’s everyday life because of higher costs, the park is offering several options for people to save money and time. The first option is to save on ticket prices. Guests can buy and print tickets online from the park’s website www.WaterSafari.com and save $1.00 off the regular admission price. By buying tickets online and printing them right at home, it saves time buying them at the gate, thus starting all the fun sooner!

A second option is for those who may want to stay overnight. First, guests can take advantage of the Siesta Savings Offer – enter the park after 3:00PM with any type of ticket and the next day is free. That gives the guest a full day and then some to spend at the park, at no extra cost. Secondly, there are ways to save with lodging options. Stay ‘N Play packages offer weekday savings (Sunday – Thursday) when you spend the night at the Old Forge Camping Resort in a camping cabin or stay in a standard room or suite at the Water’s Edge Inn. Guests receive a discount on the room rates, as well as deeper discounted tickets to the Enchanted Forest/Water Safari.

A third option is to join the Paul Bunyan Club. For a small $2.00 fee, guests purchase a Paul Bunyan Card which enables them to return to the park for half price as many times as they like for the remainder of the current operating season. Guests sign a Paul Bunyan Card, then they must re-sign at the gate for re-entry. It’s a great option for those who live closer to Old Forge and may come to the park several times during the summer.
