Area Students Recognized for Academic Achievement at SUNY Canton


SUNY Canton President Joseph L. Kennedy and the College’s deans recently recognized students who excelled academically during the Fall 2010 semester.

“It is impressive to see the diversity of students who have succeeded at SUNY Canton,” Kennedy said. “Students from all of the over the world and here in New York are represented on the College’s honor rolls. Each of these students has demonstrated that they are committed to getting the most out of their career-driven education.”

To receive President’s List honors, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale. For Dean’s List, full-time students must receive a GPA of 3.25. Part-Time Honors are awarded to students earning at least a 3.25 GPA on six to 11 credit hours.

Among the students who earned honors for academics were:

* Alex W. Bidwell of Phoenix NY 13135 a SUNY Canton Powersports Performance and Repair major made Dean’s List. Bidwell is a 2010 graduate of John C. Birdlebough High School.

* Ashley M. Breckenridge of Parish NY 13131 a SUNY Canton Individual Studies major made Dean’s List. Breckenridge is a 2006 graduate of Paul V. Moore High School.

* Lucas A. De Graff of Pulaski NY 13142 a SUNY Canton Electrical Engineering Technology major made Dean’s List. De Graff is a 2008 graduate of Pulaski Academy and Central Junior-Senior School.

* Nathan L. Glenister of Pulaski NY 13142 a SUNY Canton Electrical Engineering Technology major made Dean’s List. Glenister is a 2008 graduate of Pulaski Academy and Central Junior-Senior School.

* Jacob D. Hart of Pennellville NY 13132 a SUNY Canton Criminal Investigation major made Dean’s List. Hart is a 2008 graduate of John C. Birdlebough High School.

* Rachel F. Hinckley of Hannibal NY 13074 a SUNY Canton Veterinary Science Technology major made Dean’s List. Hinckley is a 2004 graduate of Hannibal Central School.

* Crystal G. Howse of Oswego NY 13126 a SUNY Canton Law Enforcement Leadership major made Dean’s List. Howse is a 2010 graduate of Oswego High School.

* Morgan E. Jenkins of West Monroe NY 13167 a SUNY Canton Dental Hygiene major made Dean’s List. Jenkins is a 2002 graduate of Paul V. Moore High School.

* David M. Martin of Cleveland NY 13042 a SUNY Canton Automotive Technology major made President’s List. Martin is a 2008 graduate of Paul V. Moore High School.

* Larkin F. Mcbath of West Monroe NY 13167 a SUNY Canton Veterinary Services Management major made Part-Time Honors. Mcbath is a 2000 graduate of Paul V. Moore High School.

* Nicole J. McCann of Fulton NY 13069 a SUNY Canton Dental Hygiene major made Dean’s List. McCann is a 1998 graduate of John C. Birdlebough High School.

* Jacob P. Okay of Pulaski NY 13142 a SUNY Canton Electrical Engineering Technology major made President’s List. Okay is a 2008 graduate of Pulaski Academy and Central Junior-Senior School.

* Justin D. Okay of Pulaski NY 13142 a SUNY Canton Engineering Science major made President’s List. Okay is a 2010 graduate of Pulaski Academy and Central Junior-Senior School.

* Candace M. Supernavage of Oswego NY 13126 a SUNY Canton Veterinary Science Technology major made Dean’s List. Supernavage is a 2010 graduate of Oswego High School.

* Brittany M. Wells of Hannibal NY 13074 a SUNY Canton Practical Nursing major made Dean’s List. Wells is a 2009 graduate of Hannibal Central School.

* Adam J. Witherell of Hastings NY 13076 a SUNY Canton Construction Technology: Management major made Dean’s List. Witherell is a 2007 graduate of Paul V. Moore High School.

SUNY Canton offers a wide variety of career-driven bachelor’s, associate, and certificate programs. Most of SUNY Canton’s new four-year programs are designed so students can take them on-campus, online, or both. SUNY Canton OnLine features more than 150 courses online each semester. The College’s athletic teams belong to the NAIA’s Sunrise Conference, enabling students to compete in their respective sports for four years. Construction of the College’s new Convocation, Athletic, and Recreation Center nicknamed Roos House is nearing completion, while the new apartment-style residence hall, featuring 305 single-occupancy rooms, is under construction and will open in August 2011.
