OSWEGO, NY – ARISE Oswego staff joined Ben Turner, owner of Murdock’s Bicycle & Sports in Oswego, on Sept. 11 as he chose the winning ticket for the Ride for Ramps bicycle raffle.
Murdock’s is one of the 2012 Ride for Ramps sponsors and donated the bicycle in the raffle.
The fourth annual ARISE & Ride for Ramps, held on June 9, was a motorcycle ride, bicycle ride, and festival that raised funds to build ramps on home of people who need a ramp and do not have the means to construct one.
This year, ARISE has completed 20 ramps and moved four ramps from homes that no longer have a need for the modification to homes that do.
ARISE is grateful to Murdock’s for joining the team to complete these ramps and for extending Ride for Ramps Bicycle Raffle through the summer.
ARISE congratulates Etta Mae “Peachy” DeRouise of Mexico, who won the bicycle. She can pick up the bicycle at Murdock’s, where it will be personally fitted to her.
Major support for ARISE & Ride for Ramps was also provided by The Hayner Hoyt Corporation, Empower Federal Credit Union, Woodchuck Saloon, Friends of Fort Ontario, B104.7, Fulton Savings Bank, Adam’s Apple Services, and JaMz DJ & Karaoke.
More ramps will be constructed through the fall, so there is still time to get involved.
