ARISE Seeks Artists, Writers With Disabilities To Submit Creative Work

: ARISE Child and Family Service, Inc. has a great opportunity for artists and writers with disabilities.

Anyone with a disability who is at least 8 years old and lives in Central New York is encouraged to submit an original art or literary piece to be considered for publication in UNIQUE 2012.

The deadline for submissions is April 27.

UNIQUE is an annual art and literary magazine published by ARISE. It features the creative voices of Central New York artists and writers who happen to have a disability. 2012 will mark the magazine’s 12th edition.

ARISE is a non-profit Independent Living Center run by and for people with disabilities.

The organization has been providing advocacy and services since 1979, and each year ARISE works with approximately 4,000 people of all ages who have all types of disabilities. ARISE has offices in Onondaga, Oswego, and Madison counties and operates ARISE at the Farm, a 77-acre recreational facility in Chittenango and ARISE & Ski at Toggenburg Winter Sports Center in Fabius.
